Juguang Wetland Forest Area. The Guandu Wetland Forest Park was initially a hub for the Taiwan Sugar Company's land reclamation and development for agricultural, fishing, and pastoral industries, as well as sugarcane cultivation, but due to severe land subsidence. The Aogu Wetland Forest Park was initially a hub for the Taiwan Sugar Company's land reclamation and agricultural, fishing, and pastoral activities, as well as sugarcane cultivation. However, due to severe land subsidence and seawater intrusion into the groundwater, the farm gradually declined and was abandoned. The low-lying terrain, surrounded by seawalls, formed natural reservoirs after heavy rainfall, with fish ponds and old farmland becoming a haven for migratory and resident birds. Over time, this wetland habitat has become the Aogu Wetland Forest Park of today. The large-scale afforestation efforts will flourish into lush forests in ten or twenty years, transforming Aogu Wetland into an internationally renowned ecological environment with diverse forest landscapes and rich wetland ecological resources. The Aogu Wetland Forest Park is focused on "wetland conservation" and "environmental education" as its primary development goals, making it a base for eco-tourism and teaching research.
