Lala Mountain Ecological Education Center. The Lala Mountain Ecology Education Center is a two-story above-ground and three-story below-ground building located at the starting point of the Lala Mountain Forest Trail, offering a variety of services. The Lala Mountain Ecological Education Center is the closest building to the red cypress pure forest among all the venues of the Forestry Bureau. Within the area, a 3,700-meter circular trail is planned according to the location of the giant cypress tree group, with 22 giant tree explanation signs on both sides of the trail, introducing the tree species, age, height, and other ecological data. It is one of the few precious cypress forests in Taiwan that can be approached at close range. In response to the establishment of the Lala Mountain National Forest Recreation Area, in order to provide the public with better software and hardware services, the park has recently launched an improvement project to transform the Ecological Education Center into a visitor center, and subsequent improvement projects such as management stations and box culverts will be launched, with a construction period expected to last until the end of January 2023. The public is requested to be understanding of the inconvenience caused during the construction period and to pay special attention to safety when passing through the construction area. Due to the indoor construction of the original building, it has been closed for safety reasons. The public is reminded that if they need to use the restroom, they can go to the public restroom next to the Shangba Ling Parking Lot or the public restroom next to the park entrance management station to save waiting time. Additionally, a temporary restroom has been set up in the parking lot, and the public restroom next to the 4th giant tree on the trail is still available.
