In 1926, a movement to dispel superstitions swept across Taiwan, and the temple's deities were once destroyed. After the Taiwanese military stationed in Kinmen in 1949, this temple served as the supply depot and tax office for the military government and the battlefield affairs committee. It was later reclaimed and renovated by the temple management in 1984 and rebuilt in 1987 to its current appearance.
