The Golden East Cinema is located in Yangdai, Jinsha Township. In 1960, Taipei City Council Speaker Zhang Xiangchuan donated funds to build the cinema to comfort the officers on the front lines of Jinmen. The cinema provided a place for soldiers to rest and relax. The cinema was always full during its opening year. The nearby Yangdai Street area developed into a prosperous commercial street with barbershops, billiard rooms, and bathhouses. Today's Yangdai Old Street has been renovated and still retains some of the original shops, with rusty metal signs and handwritten ink store names on the walls. The Golden East Cinema still retains the atmosphere of the 1940s, with a simple brick and cement building, wooden counters with scratches, wooden seats, and red and white slogans such as "Why Fight" on the walls, leaving a vivid historical memory.
