Pao Ma Ancient Trail. The Pao Ma Ancient Trail was first opened during the Guangxu era of the Qing Dynasty. Pioneers gradually utilized the valleys of the Xindian River in Taipei County and the Houdongkeng River in Jiaoxi, crossing the watershed to open a new, more convenient road. It was an important connecting route for pioneers to travel between Tamsui Hall and Jiaoxi for trade and transportation of daily necessities, and it is one of the branches of the Danlan Ancient Trail. After renovation, the ancient trail has been restored to its former appearance.
