It is situated at the mountain pass of the renowned Northern-Yilan Highway (Provincial Highway 9), at an altitude of approximately 5. This was once an important transportation hub for traveling between Xindian and Yilan through the mountains of northern Taiwan. The park's unique geographical location at the summit of the winding "Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns" section of the road makes it a crucial spot for travelers to enjoy the scenery and restock supplies. From the observation deck (Jīnmian Lookout), visitors can take in the vast and beautiful views of the Lanyang Plain, Guishan Island, and the Pacific Ocean. Especially on clear days, the scenery is magnificently picturesque, making it a highly representative scenic viewpoint along the Northern-Yilan Highway.
