In 1909, "Daxi Street" was an important base for the Japanese colonial government's administration of indigenous affairs, leading to urban planning based on the concept of a "standard city." Thus, Daxi's first park, Dakankang Park, was born. The park, shaped like Taiwan when viewed from above, concealed the nationalistic beliefs that were unwilling to be lost under the Japanese imperialization movement. In 1975, the park was renamed "CKS Park" to commemorate Chiang Kai-shek's contributions in Taiwan.
