Zhongli Renhai Temple, a foundation that won fourth place in the Ministry of the Interior's Top 100 Religious Sites in Taiwan, was founded in the 6th year of the Daoguang reign (1826) and enshrines Mazu as its principal deity. It has a history of nearly 200 years. It was originally jointly built by 13 villages including Zhongli, Pingzhen, and Yangmei. Initially, only Guanyin Bodhisattva was enshrined, and later Mazu was added. It has undergone five major renovations and is the oldest temple in Zhongli. Located in Xinjie, it is known as the "Xinjie Temple" and has always been a popular place of worship! It is now an important center of faith for Zhongli residents and is also known as "Zhongli Mazu."
