Most towns have bike paths, but few offer close-up views of the riverside scenery. The Nankan River Riverside Bikeway is one of the few that successfully blends natural landscapes into a recreational path. It spans 22 kilometers, connecting Guishan, Taoyuan, Luzhu, and Dayuan districts with parklands and scenic bridges. While cycling, enjoy the rare open vistas of the city, with different charms day and night. Riding along the bikeway, native fish swim in the stream, and the clean water attracts many egrets foraging here. Coupled with the riverbanks built with locally sourced pebbles, it resembles a picture of ecological scenery. The path extends from Nankan No. 1 Bridge in Guishan District, passing through Hutou Mountain Park, to Nankan River Bridge in Luzhu District. This continuous green corridor is planted with trees such as Lagerstroemia indica, Chionanthus retusus, peach, and Japanese cherry blossoms, adding a vibrant green atmosphere to the rural scenery.
