Since the Japanese colonial era, it has been managed by Taiwan. Lijingting, built in 1941, was formerly the official residence of the Zhongli District Office, constructed by the "Zhongli Neighborhood Association." It was inhabited by a Taiwanese police family since the Japanese colonial era. After World War II, it witnessed the Zhongli Incident, becoming a milestone in Taiwan's democratic development. The Taoyuan City Government Department of Cultural Affairs registered it as a historic building in 2012. Following research, planning, design, and restoration, it reopened to the public in 2019. Through exhibitions and lectures, Lijingting has become an artistic and cultural salon for the Zhongli area, preserving local knowledge and addressing social issues.
