Sheng Chang Herbal Medicine Museum. Sheng Chang Pharmaceutical Factory was founded in 1946. In its early days, it produced raw herbal powders, pills, powders, ointments, and elixirs. Later, it began to invest in the production of modern concentrated Chinese herbal medicines, pioneering the development of concentrated Chinese herbal medicines (scientific Chinese herbal medicines) in Taiwan. In 1966, mass production of high-quality concentrated Chinese herbal medicines began at the Zhonghe factory. In 1976, GMP concepts were first introduced, and in 1986, it became the first pharmaceutical factory in the country to pass the software evaluation for Chinese herbal medicine GMP, as inspected and assessed by the Department of Health. In 2000, NT$3 billion was invested to establish a herbal medicine industry-academia-research-education park in Zhongli. With a scientific spirit, advanced equipment, and strict quality control requirements, the company continuously innovates. Its products in various dosage forms are widely recognized by the medical and pharmaceutical industries and are marketed worldwide. In 2018, it passed the strict PIC/S GMP inspection certification by the Japanese Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices Agency (PMDA). In 2020, to allow more people to understand Chinese herbal medicine, the Sheng Chang Herbal Medicine Museum was established to pass on the cultural knowledge of Chinese herbal medicine to the public.
