Tengping Ancient Trail. Tengping Ancient Trail is named for its rich variety of rattan plants, especially the abundant Formosan rattan produced in earlier years. Starting from the trailhead at the Shishan Visitor Center, the entire trail is about 2 kilometers long, mainly paved with dirt paths, cobblestones, and wooden boardwalks. The entire section is flat and easy to walk. Along the way, you can see over 50 species of rattan and more than 80 species of ferns, as well as a nearly 60-year-old Bauhinia scandens, making it a trail rich in ecological education. It connects to Liuliao Ancient Trail, and walking both takes about 1 hour. The winding paths formed by the intertwined rattan and ferns along the way give a sense of entering a hidden realm. During the tung blossom season, you can also see incredibly beautiful scenery with white flowers covering the mountainside. On hot days, escape to the mountains! The sides of the trail are shaded by dense forests and lush vegetation, offering a cool retreat while also strengthening your body! Shitoushan has multiple trails for hiking; visitors should assess their physical condition to plan their route.
