Water Buffalo School. Located in Xinpu Township, Principal Li Chun-hsin, witnessing the gradual decline of buffalo plowing culture, is determined to dedicate himself to buffalo plowing, calling on all children with a childlike heart to return to the countryside. Located in Xinpu Township, the "Water Buffalo School," led by Principal Li Chun-hsin, is dedicated to preserving the traditional buffalo plowing culture. Recognizing the fading heritage, Principal Li is committed to reviving this practice and inviting people of all ages with a childlike spirit back to the countryside. The school aims to foster a connection with buffaloes and promote environmental education through hands-on experiences. The Water Buffalo School offers one-day experience camps and winter/summer camps for life education. Courses include learning about various buffalo plowing tools and natural farming methods. Young cowherds will learn to lead, herd, ride, and rope buffaloes, as well as massage them, clean stables, prepare fodder, dry buffalo dung, and interact closely with the animals. Through contact and labor with the buffaloes, children can experience their temperament and energy, discover the wonders of life, and appreciate the land. In addition to buffalo plowing, the school's curriculum also includes activities like carrier pigeon messaging, nature exploration, wood chopping for outdoor cooking, and artistic endeavors such as making buffalo dung incense and paper crafts. These activities offer a taste of rural leisure. Furthermore, children will learn teamwork and the joy of using traditional tools by constructing traditional climbing structures using tools and knot-tying techniques.
