Located in Guanxi Township, Hsinchu County, "Shiguang Old Trail", also known as "Laohushan Trail", was once an important agricultural route connecting Shigangzi in Guanxi and Longtan in Taoyuan, with a history of nearly two hundred years. The trail is named after the hilly terrain that resembles a crouching tiger, and it was once the lifeline for Hakka residents to transport agricultural products. With the construction of modern highways, the old trail was once forgotten, but in recent years, through the joint efforts of the Shiguang Community Development Association and the local government, it has been renovated and restored to its former glory. The trail can start from the Luo Family Old House next to Shiguang Junior High School, pass through Mianpuding Mountain, and finally lead to the tea garden pavilion and the Catholic Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto. The route can be a loop. The old trail is paved with cobblestones, winding through dense forest shade, with plant interpretation signs and Hakka proverbs along the way, adding to the humanistic interest of the trail. There are also pavilions, viewing platforms, and wooden benches in the middle, allowing travelers to stop, enjoy the scenery, and rest. Visiting the Our Lady of Lourdes Grotto is a major highlight of this route. It is a cave-like church built to commemorate the miracle of Our Lady of Lourdes. The main altar is carved from a giant stone, and the statue of the Virgin Mary is hidden within the cave stone, solemn and sacred, unique. Returning to the main loop from here, climbing to the viewing platform, one can overlook the Second Northern Freeway, Fengshan River, Pinglin Bridge, and the Shigangzi valley.
