In the past, the citrus and persimmons abundantly produced in the Qionglin area were carried by local residents along this ancient trail to be sold at the Xinpu market, leaving profound cultural footprints. The trail is paved with flat, large stone slabs, referred to as 'Shiqi' in Hakka, meaning a stone-paved mountain path, which still retains its ancient charm today. The Sanduanqi Ancient Trail, approximately 3 kilometers in length, is characterized by its three sections of stone steps, with lush bamboo forests along the way, forming a natural green tunnel. Starting from the Qionglin side, there is a viewing platform midway, offering a panoramic view of Qionglin Township and Zhubei City. Continuing along the stone slab path, after passing through a tranquil bamboo forest, you will reach the original cobblestone path. Not only is the trail gentle and easy to walk, but it is also full of the vitality of nature. At the ridge fork, you can turn towards Shitouken Mountain to explore the second and third-class triangulation benchmark stones, and next to them, you can see the boundary stone of the 'Touqian River Water Resource Protection Area of Taiwan Provincial Government,' witnessing the geographical and historical value of this mountain path. Returning to the main path and continuing forward, you will pass by ancient camphor trees and the Shipei Tudigong (local earth god shrine), finally reaching the Xinpu trailhead. Travelers can also choose to take the branch line for a circular route, fully experiencing the scenery of the ancient trail.
