Beipu Citian Temple. Located on Beipu Old Street, Beipu Citian Temple is the most representative temple in Beipu and its spiritual center. Citian Temple has undergone several renovations since its establishment, with the major renovation led by Jiang Ronghua, the eldest grandson of Jiang Xiuluan, in the 13th year of Tongzhi (1874), adding two corridors and a front hall, forming a "two halls, two corridors, and two transverse rooms" layout. In addition to the main deity Guanyin Bodhisattva, the temple also enshrines Mazu, Wugu Xiannong, Wenchang Dijun, Sanshan Guowang, Sanguan Dadi, Zhusheng Niangniang, and Fude Zhengshen. The east wing also enshrines the memorial tablets of individuals who contributed to the development of Beipu, such as Tamsui Magistrate Li Siye, pioneer Jiang Xiuluan, and Jiang Ronghua. It also records the history of Beipu's development and the process of diverse beliefs, making it the spiritual and living center of Beipu residents. Because the temple enshrines deities from various backgrounds, it has blurred the ancestral origins of the settlers and strengthened Beipu's central position among the villages of Zhongxing, Chikeping, Fuxing, Dali, Puwei, and Nanpu. When visiting Beipu Old Street, besides visiting Citian Temple, you can also walk through the alley to the left of the temple to see the ancient well and admire the retro architecture of the old street, experiencing the simple and rustic charm of Beipu.
