Founded during the Daoguang era, it enshrines the Three Mountain Kings and has always been the center of faith for the Xincheng, Baodou, and Shenjing areas in Baoshan Township. The most lively time at Xinfeng Temple is the birthday of the Three Mountain Kings, celebrated on the 25th of the 2nd, 5th, and 8th lunar months. Additionally, on the 14th and 15th of the first lunar month, the 'Castrated Rooster Competition' is held, where residents bring their own raised chickens to compete for the fattest one, a major local event. In earlier years, with a lack of medical care and rampant epidemics, a procession for blessings led by Xinfeng Temple was held annually on the 14th and 15th of the first lunar month, hoping for a peaceful new year, and the 'Da Zhong Wu' (hitting noon) event was organized. Currently, 'Da Zhong Wu' symbolizes 'empty time, good harvest year.' When the procession rests in the villages at noon, villagers spontaneously provide food for them. Through the 'Da Zhong Wu' event, it strengthens cohesion and promotes the Hakka spirit of diligence, sharing, cherishing blessings, and dedication, making it an important activity for the inheritance of Hakka culture.
