It is a very old temple, thus attracting numerous devotees and enjoying flourishing incense. It is not only a renowned temple in the Qionglin area but also an important early school. Wenlin Pavilion was founded during the Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty by scholar Deng Zhaoxiong, serving as a school for nurturing local talent at the time. During the Guangxu reign, the "Wenlin Society" was established, becoming a place for literati in the Touqian River basin to gather and exchange ideas. Later, the school was converted into a temple named "Wenlin Pavilion," also known as Wenci. It was rebuilt in 1932 (the 21st year of the Republic of China), transforming the original earthen temple into a building with red bricks and glazed tiles. The current temple appearance was reconstructed around 1991 (the 80th year of the Republic of China). Every September 28th, the birthday of Confucius, is the most solemn day of worship at Qionglin Wenlin Pavilion. The temple holds grand celebrations, attracting a continuous stream of devout men and women from all over to pay their respects, with flourishing incense.
