It was formerly known as "Cai Feng Bridge" and was built in 1933 (Showa 8). It is an important thoroughfare connecting the Guanxi urban area and Dong'an Village. The original Dong'an Bridge was merely a wooden pontoon bridge, which was washed away whenever mountain floods occurred, interrupting traffic. Local residents then advocated for the construction of a bridge. Local gentry hired Japanese engineers to design it, and then employed workers to collect fine-grained stones from the Jinshan area. These stones were transported to the site by human labor and then built by a team of local renowned stonemasons led by Li Zhen. The bridge has remained intact after decades of use, demonstrating the superb engineering techniques and quality.
