On the way up to Jiou-chiung Lake, before reaching Jin Gu Farm, there is a small road turning right, which leads to the Pitangwo Aquatic Plant Education Park. Pitangwo, which primarily operates on reservations, was formerly a paddy field and later planted with fruit trees. However, due to the owner Huang Liu Jin-kui's advanced age and population outflow, the irrigation channels and ponds gradually lost their function. Unable to bear seeing the beloved land fall into disrepair, he collaborated with the community to transform it. The original one-hectare area was utilized to cultivate aquatic plants in the pond environment. The park also features nectar plants favored by insects, such as Barringtonia racemosa and Aristolochia, allowing butterflies to easily forage here. Additionally, Formosan gum trees provide a suitable habitat for rhinoceros beetles. The entire park is beautiful and clean, offering opportunities to interact with insects everywhere, filled with surprises, making it a favorite treasure-hunting secret spot for children.
