Hsinchu County History Museum. To preserve relevant archives after the division of Hsinchu City and County, books from the Hsinchu Prefecture Library during the Japanese colonial era, and other potentially lost historical materials and documents, the Hsinchu County History Museum was prepared. To preserve relevant archives after the division of Hsinchu City and County, books from the Hsinchu Prefecture Library during the Japanese colonial era, and other potentially lost historical materials and documents, the Preparatory Office for the Hsinchu County History Museum was established in 1999. It actively sought subsidies from the Hakka Affairs Council for museum construction, with full support from the Hsinchu County Government. Through the efforts of all parties, construction finally began in 2005, and the museum successfully opened on August 31, 2008. The main functions of the Hsinchu County History Museum are to "collect" and "archive" official and private historical materials. The architectural concept combines the ideas of "Hakka Walled Villages" and "Courtyard Design." The interior space is divided into six main axes: document reading, archive center, exhibition space, research and restoration, administration, and service space. The County History Museum serves as the reception hall for Hsinchu County, where one can learn about the past, understand the present, and contemplate the future. In addition to serving as a local education center and a research hub, it forms a "Hakka cultural iron triangle" with Ciyun Temple and the Hakka Cultural College of National Chiao Tung University to promote traditional spirit.
