Every weekend and holiday, the open space in front of the old Guansi Branch Police Station transforms into the "Historic Site Market." Currently, there are 6 permanent stalls, and the stall owners are almost all local residents or small farmers. The market offers products such as handmade soaps, Hakka rice foods, coffee, vegetarian snacks, honey and tea seed oil, and handmade wooden crafts, with each stall having its own unique characteristics. The couple selling handmade soaps and vegetables are retirees who returned to their hometown. The wife, who enjoys handicraft classes, learned to make natural handmade soaps, while the husband, who values food safety, became a small farmer to grow vegetables using pesticide- and chemical-fertilizer-free methods to produce non-toxic fruits and vegetables. In the market, a stall called "Rice Food Mama" offers a variety of traditional Hakka rice foods, such as radish cake, mugwort cake, Hakka dumplings, sweet rice cake, and savory rice cake, all full of authentic Hakka flavor. In addition to handmade soaps and Hakka rice foods, there are also braised dishes and side dishes made by Hakka mothers, as well as processed agricultural products like pickled radish and dried radish. Coffee lovers can try the local coffee produced by the Guansi Mawudu Coffee Cooperative. The locally grown coffee beans from the Mawudu mountain area are roasted between light and medium roasts, offering not only the inherent flavor of the coffee but also layered aftertastes of longan, plum, maltose, and dried almonds.
