With the efforts of the Hsinchu County Government in restoration and protection, the serene, light-pollution-free environment is very suitable for fireflies to inhabit. In the mountains, you can see luminous black-winged fireflies and hear the chirping of insects. The peak time for fireflies to appear each day is from 7 PM to 8 PM.
