Winding up the mountain road in Qixing Village, Emei Township, the farmland is planted with Ponkan and Satsuma oranges, with abundant fruits and a fragrant aroma. Stepping into Jixiang Farm, you'll see a naturally grown orchard where the fruit trees show signs of insect bites and mottled peels, a symbol of 'fire-scorched oranges' – pesticide-free cultivation that follows nature. Although the oranges here may not be perfect in appearance, they are rich in aroma, sweet with a hint of sourness, and have a unique flavor. The farm insists on not using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or herbicides, and even tries to avoid natural additives, making the orchard a habitat for pangolins, frogs, bees, and spiders, practicing ecological symbiosis and land sustainability. Jixiang Farm manages its orchards with natural farming methods, allowing the fruit trees and the land to coexist and prosper. The orchard preserves over twenty-year-old orange trees and manages pests and diseases manually, such as pruning dead branches and burning diseased plants, to maintain the orchard's health. This respect and commitment to the land have earned the farm Green Conservation certification and passed multiple food safety inspections, ensuring that every orange can be safely enjoyed. In addition to fresh fruit, the farm also utilizes Ponkan peels in baking and desserts, offering specialty products such as orange-scented European bread and Italian handmade ice cream. The bread is made with only orange peel, wheat flour, water, yeast, and salt – simple and pure, yet rich in flavor.
