Lin Xiankun, with his talent and hard work, united the clan's strength and managed the development of Liujia, quickly rising from the status of a tenant to that of a small landlord. Due to his enthusiasm for public welfare, his social status steadily increased. During the Lin Shuangwen Rebellion, Lin Xiankun rallied the villagers to form a militia to defend their homeland and assisted the Qing army in quelling the rebellion, thus receiving the plaque 'Baohong' and military commendations from the Qing court. Lin Xiankun's third son, Lin Guobao, followed in his father's footsteps, contributing financially and physically to the reconstruction of Zhuqian City.
