Zhubei Liuzhangli Lin Family Ancestral Shrine. The establishment of the Lin Family Ancestral Shrine originated from the establishment of the Lin Family Cishang Gong (second sage ancestor) society. Lin Xiankun, in the Qianlong period, united with clan members to organize the Lin Cishang Gong Society. In 1790 (Qing Dynasty, 55th year of Qianlong), the first plot of land was purchased in Liuzhangli to serve as the ancestral land for the Cishang Gong. Subsequently, more land was purchased in Liuzhangli Village, Luchang Village, Fangliao Village, Bazhangli Village, and Jiuxianglin Village. The income from the society was used to cover the expenses of the ancestral memorial ceremony held on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month each year. Pigs and sheep were offered as sacrifices, and descendants gathered to offer incense and pay respects at the ancestral shrine. The Cishang Gong Society built the ancestral shrine in 1882 (Qing Dynasty, 8th year of Guangxu), calling it the "Cishang Gong Hall." It was rebuilt in 1911 to its current layout. As the six houses shared an ancestral shrine, it was later renamed the Lin Family Ancestral Shrine. It underwent renovation and reconstruction in 1951 (41st year of the Republic of China) and had walls and a patio canopy built in 1981 (70th year of the Republic of China).
