The museum provides detailed information about Mr. Teng Teng-Hui's life story, photographic works, and displays antique cameras, all of which are precious assets left behind by Taiwanese history. Teng Nan-Kuang, whose real name was Teng Teng-Hui, was born in 1907 in Beipu Township, Hsinchu. He founded the Taiwan Photographic Culture Association and his lifelong travels documented and left behind very precious assets for the history of Taiwan and Beipu. During the Japanese colonial era, Teng Nan-Kuang began to engage in photography while studying economics at Hosei University in Japan. He primarily studied realistic photography. After returning to Taiwan, he pursued photography as a profession. Before he was 30 years old, his footprints had already spread across Taiwan, leaving behind nearly 6,000 negatives. Teng Nan-Kuang's works cover a wide range of subjects, including salon, portrait, stage, still life, landscape, sketch, and documentary photography, each with its own distinct style. These works, numbering in the tens of thousands, span 40 years of visual language. It wasn't until 1971, after Teng Nan-Kuang's passing, that his rich creative journey came to an end.
