Ascend the steps, and you'll find the interior and exterior walls of the campus adorned with unique Atayal totems and mosaic patterns. A century-old zelkova tree stands resiliently beside the red and white campus track, unaffected by wind and rain. Surrounding it are traditional Atayal bamboo houses, granaries, and defensive watchtowers, showcasing the early lifestyle of the Atayal people! Although Taoshan Elementary School has weathered natural disasters, it doesn't exude sorrow from the storms; instead, it's a pure paradise filled with art and nature's melodies. The 2004 Typhoon Aere caused significant damage to Taoshan Village, and the suspension bridge in front of Taoshan Elementary School was washed away by the floodwaters, completely cutting off transportation. However, the school was not defeated by the disaster. Through the joint efforts of teachers and students over the years, an Atayal Cultural Hall was established within the school, displaying many Atayal artifacts. Additionally, there are indigenous cultural assets such as the "Atayal Traditional Granary" and "Atayal Traditional Bamboo House," making it a worthwhile place to visit and experience.
