The operating philosophy of Mindou Sculpture Park: A group of Tayal people from various tribes in Taoshan Village, under the guidance of the Council of Labor Affairs' diverse employment program, developed their Tayal wood carving skills. From complete unfamiliarity to mature techniques, the journey has been extraordinary. What was once a wild, overgrown area now presents itself with a natural, rustic, and culturally artistic appearance, with every stone and piece of wood crafted by hand. The Mindou carving class, piece by piece, stone by stone, tile by tile, pillar by pillar, rebuilt a space centered on ecology and culture from extensive destruction. All building materials are based on environmental concepts, meeting green building standards. Without the help of large machinery, every part was built by hand. In addition to cultivating carving talent and preserving traditional weaving, they have also ventured into guesthouse operations, hoping to integrate cultural elements into leisure tourism. The diverse human history can not only enrich the content of tourism, allowing different ethnic groups to understand and respect different cultures, but also enable Mindou Sculpture Park to develop a high-quality industry, creating local employment, local production services, and a locally developed tribal industry for sustainable development. The park's spaces are planned with a "South Zone": including a conference room (accommodating 40 people), a sculpture exhibition, a cafe, a dining area, and an outdoor green pavilion for chatting, as well as accommodation suitable for escaping the cold in winter. The North Zone has a large observation deck.
