Jianshi Rock is a landmark in Jianshi Township, Hsinchu County. About 400 meters northeast of the Jianshi Township Office, after heading up from Neiwan, Jianshi Rock stands between the Nalou and Jiale rivers. At the top of the giant rock, a century-old pine and cypress tree remains verdant year-round, with a majestic and imposing form. Despite enduring wind, frost, scorching sun, and torrential rain, it still stands as it was, symbolizing the Atayal people's brave loyalty, unyielding spirit, and resilience in the face of adversity, from which Jianshi derives its name. The rock measures 35 meters long and 20 meters wide, serving as a majestic natural barrier for the township. Legend has it that this Jianshi Rock is over ten thousand years old. The stream flows gently beneath the rock, with numerous large stones in the stream, yet this rock alone stands out majestically.
