The giant tree cluster of Beidelaman Mountain is composed of a precious group of low-altitude Taiwan red cypress trees, some of which are 3,000 to 4,000 years old. These ancient red cypresses survived because during the Japanese colonial period, the Japanese considered the "cypress" shape unattractive, and the area was rarely visited, thus avoiding destruction. This well-preserved cypress cluster not only has extremely high ecological value but is also one of Taiwan's most famous low-altitude cypress giant tree clusters.
