As freight volume gradually decreased, the station transitioned into a tourist-oriented transportation route. The name Jiuzantou Station originates from the nearby Jiuzantou Hakka village. Legend has it that early settlers discovered a giant ancient tree named "Jiuzantou Tree" and used it as a landmark, subsequently naming the entire area "Jiuzantou." With the opening of the Neiwan Line, this name was retained, becoming the Jiuzantou Station of today. The station boasts a spacious yard and track area, making it the only station on the Neiwan Line where trains can cross after Zhudong Station. As the station lacks an overpass or underpass, passengers must cross the tracks directly to reach the platform, which has become a distinctive feature of Jiuzantou Station. Today, the station is not only a local transportation hub but also attracts numerous tourists who come to experience the nostalgic charm of the railway.
