As you venture deeper, the view transforms into lush bamboo forests, where the leaves sway in the wind, creating a crisp sound that is refreshing and invigorating. For some hikers, the steep incline at the beginning might be a bit challenging, but resting benches are provided for those who wish to slow down. After about 15 minutes, the trail enters an original mountain path, where slippery fallen leaves and fallen trees on the forest floor may pose slight obstacles, adding to the wild charm of the hike. Along the way, you will pass by the ruins of an A-yu outpost, with existing retaining walls and firing holes that evoke thoughts of its past as a military stronghold. After passing a pavilion, the trail gradually narrows, and continuing onward will lead you to the West Peak. The natural stone triangulation point at an altitude of 1,492 meters on the West Peak attracts many hikers for photos.
