It is known for its high difficulty, with the entire traverse taking over ten hours. However, many people choose to hike only to Maibalai Mountain. Maibalai Mountain has an elevation of 2,113 meters, with a drop of over 1,000 meters, and is famous for its steepness, earning it the nickname "Mai Ge Lai Shan" (Don't Come Again Mountain) among hikers. The trailhead begins at the Wufeng Workstation of the Agricultural Improvement Station. The initial section of the trail is a steep uphill climb, winding through cedar and mixed forests, with a quiet, shady environment and fresh air exuding a rich forest fragrance. The first peak is Maibalai Northwest Peak, surrounded by Yushan rhododendron forests. Although there are no views, it possesses a unique tranquil charm. Continuing to the junction of Luoshan Forest Road South Line, you can choose to go to the main peak or the west peak. The path to the main peak is covered with pine needles, resembling a dreamlike misty forest. The summit of the main peak offers a vast panorama, with clear weather allowing views of Zhudong Town, Wuzhi Mountain, and other scenery. The section leading to the west peak is flat and easy to walk, with a soft and comfortable carpet of pine needles along the way. Sunlight filters through the cedar forest, creating a vibrant and lively landscape. Maibalai Trail blends challenge with natural beauty, suitable for hikers with strong legs to experience.
