What's special about Sanyi carvings is the artisans' skill in utilizing the natural form of the wood, often creating large-scale original sculptures or lifelike, natural pieces that are given new life. Sanyi wood carvings are now concentrated in Shuimei, about 1 kilometer from the Sanyi Interchange off National Freeway No. 3, along Provincial Highway 3.
