The architectural exterior and interior fully reflect the social and historical background of the time, representing one of the few remaining Japanese-Western eclectic wooden station buildings in Taiwan and a typical example of a small railway station from the Japanese colonial era. However, the gradient of the mountain line of the main railway was too steep at the time, limiting transportation efficiency.
