Hutou Mountain. Originally named Huyü, located north of the city center, facing south, it serves as a natural barrier against the northeast monsoon. With an altitude of about 93 meters, it is lush and green, with a shape resembling a fierce tiger looking up and roaring. From the summit, one can enjoy a panoramic view of Tongxiao, with the sea and sky merging into one. The "Huyü Tidal Observation" was once listed as the first scenic spot in Tongxiao. Hutou Mountain has four historical sites: the Taiwan Retrocession Monument, ancient cannons, a shrine, and Shou Gong Shrine. The ancient cannons, remnants from the Japanese colonial era, are rumored to have participated in the Russo-Japanese War and were the most advanced explosive cannons of their time. The environmental park on the mountain combines natural landscapes with ecological conservation, making it a great place for leisure and outings.
