Starting and Ending Points: Longshan Tribe, Tai'an Township ~ North Peak Triangulation Point of Henglong Mountain 3. Trail Length: Approximately 2 kilometers, walking time: approximately 90 minutes one way. The Henglong Historic Trail was an early hunting path used by the Atayal people of the Siwasik Longshan Tribe, hence it is also known as the Siwasik Historic Trail. It was also the route connecting the Longshan Tribe and the Lucheng Tribe in Nanzhuang. Along the trail, visitors can see vine tunnels and bamboo-lined paths, enveloped in lush greenery, creating a serene and elegant atmosphere. Occasionally, pheasants may leap out from hidden bushes, offering a delightful surprise. From County Road 62, pass through the Longshan Tribe and the Henglong Mountain industrial road. At the end of the industrial road is the entrance to the Henglong Historic Trail. A giant stone pillar at the trailhead is inscribed with the four characters "Henglong Historic Trail." Follow the stone steps, which ascend in a zigzag pattern. After walking to a platform of about 100 ping (approximately 330 square meters), stone steps can be seen all around. This was the Aiyong (indigenous guard) supervisory station built by the Japanese to suppress the Atayal people. The remaining foundations and low walls bear witness to history. Continuing north, the scenery is tranquil, allowing one to appreciate the dense growth of trees, camphor trees, and other trees on both sides. Further ahead, on the right, is another platform similar in structure to the previous one, which is the former site of an Ailiao (indigenous guard post). Soon, sandstone steps can be seen winding along the trail, leading to an observation deck from which one can overlook Dahu to the west.
