Elun Temple. The ancient bell of Elun Temple has a winding historical story. In the 30th year of the Republic of China (1941), the Japanese army confiscated civilian copper and ironware to manufacture ammunition and cannons, and the ancient bell was also seized and submitted to the Dahu District Office. For decades, everyone believed that the ancient bell had been melted down into weapons and was lost forever. One day, Mr. Zhang Lichun, the temple keeper of Elun Temple, happened to pass by the Dahu Police Station (the former site of the District Office) and discovered that the 'police bell' in the backyard of the station was the ancient bell of Elun Temple that he used to polish. After several negotiations by the Elun Management Committee, the ancient bell, lost for 40 years, finally returned to the bell tower of Elun Temple in the 71st year of the Republic of China (1982).
