In winter and spring, it is often shrouded in thick fog, creating a hazy beauty under the mist. The Saisiyat Folk Museum is located by this beautiful lake. The Saisiyat are a minority indigenous group, with a population of approximately 5,000 people. They mainly reside in Wufeng Township, Hsinchu County, and Nanzhuang Township and Shitan Township, Miaoli County, divided into Southern and Northern Saisiyat groups by Mount Esgongji and Mount Hengpingbei. Due to their small population and the difficulty of cultural preservation, the Miaoli County Government secured funding to establish the Saisiyat Folk Museum by Xiangtian Lake to pass down Saisiyat cultural heritage. The first floor is planned for a souvenir shop, restaurant, and collection room. The restaurant faces Xiangtian Lake, so floor-to-ceiling windows were installed during construction to allow visitors to enjoy the lake scenery while savoring their meals. On clear days, you can also order a drink and sit at the outdoor cafe to spend a leisurely time. The second floor has a service desk, themed exhibition area, and multimedia briefing room. The third floor features an outdoor plaza displaying Saisiyat traditional model houses, allowing visitors to understand Saisiyat architectural craftsmanship through direct observation.
