Shihtan Township Cultural Center. The Shihtan Cultural Center was originally the former site of the Shihtan Township Office. After the township office relocated, the space became disused. In 2003, the government promoted the "Idle Space" program. The Shitan Cultural Center was originally the old office building of the Shitan Township Office. After the township office relocated, the building became an unused space. In 2003, the government launched the "Idle Space Reuse" and "Local Cultural Center Programs." To provide a venue for local cultural and artistic activities and to respond to these two programs, the township office applied to establish a cultural center in the old office building.
Because of its central location in Xindian Village, with convenient transportation and high accessibility, it is very convenient for residents who want to enjoy cultural and artistic activities. This has also increased the utilization rate of the cultural center, making it an important building on Xindian Old Street.
After renovation, the cultural center covers an area of 500 square meters and has three floors. The first floor has a children's reading room, a digital center, and a gym. The second floor houses a conference room, a recreation room, and an old photo exhibition area. The third floor is planned with a presentation room and an exercise room, making it a great place for local residents to engage in leisure activities, reading, and fitness in their free time. In addition, the cultural center also regularly collaborates with professionals to offer courses such as bamboo carving, straw weaving, and papermaking, giving the public the opportunity to experience these ancient crafts.
