The number of ancient artifacts preserved within the temple is also unparalleled among the many temples in the Houlong area, including an ancient table from the Qianlong period and a plaque inscribed with "Harmony with Heaven" from the Guangxu Emperor of the Qing Dynasty. Ci Yun Temple faces south and is divided into a main hall and two side wings. The main hall enshrines the Mazu deity, with Land God and Zhusheng Niangniang (Goddess of Childbirth) enshrined on the left and right sides respectively. It is a place of fervent worship. Ci Yun Temple's highly engaging traditional folk activity during the Lantern Festival, "Shooting Cannon City," involves the temple suspending a miniature castle atop a ten-meter bamboo pole. Contestants then throw ignited firecrackers into the castle's gates, causing the gunpowder inside to explode, signifying victory and earning the participants prizes from the organizers.
