Tzu Yun, built over 200 years ago, is the oldest temple in Houlong. The temple also houses more ancient artifacts than any other temple in the Houlong area, such as ancient tables from the Qianlong period and a plaque from the Guangxu Emperor of the Qing Dynasty inscribed with "Equal to Heaven". Tzu Yun Temple faces south and is divided into a main hall and two side rooms. The main hall enshrines the Mazu deity, with the Earth God and the Goddess of Childbirth enshrined on the left and right sides respectively. The temple is bustling with worshippers. Tzu Yun Temple's unique Lantern Festival folk activity, "Shooting the Cannon City", is held annually. In this activity, the temple hangs a miniature castle on top of a 10-meter-long bamboo pole. Participants light firecrackers and throw them into the castle's gates, causing the gunpowder inside to explode. Those who succeed win prizes from the organizers.
