Erbensong Visitor Center. Located on Simaxian Forest Road in Tai'an Township, Miaoli County, "Erbensong" is a place name filled with Japanese charm, much like "Xuejian. Located on Simaxian Forest Road in Tai'an Township, Miaoli County, "Erben Song" (Two Pine Trees), much like "Xuejian" (Snow View), is a place name filled with Japanese charm. To understand how "Erben Song" got its name, we have to go back to the beginning. During the Japanese colonial period, the Erben Song Police Station was established here. In front of the building stood two towering pine trees, hence people began calling it "Erben Song." Although the building is no longer there, a section of the former tree trunk remains as a relic for people to remember. The former site of the police station has now been redeveloped into the Erben Song Interpretation Center, staffed by indigenous interpreters and volunteers who guide visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the rich local history, indigenous culture, and ecological explorations of the surrounding area. When the weather is clear, we can overlook the magnificent Daan River Valley, the eight villages of the Southern Three Villages, and even the Shilin Dam from the observation deck, all of which are visible at a glance. It is an excellent viewpoint along the route to Xuejian. In this pristine mountain forest, stroll along the beautiful forest road formed by lush green bamboo groves and towering Japanese cedars and Chinese firs, and experience a quiet and serene atmosphere that will make you linger.
