Swasiq Tribe. The name Swasiq Tribe comes from the Atayal word "Swasiq", meaning a place abundant in nightshade (a type of wild vegetable); because it is located at the foot of Longshan Mountain. The entrance to the famous "Henglong Ancient Trail" is located above Swasiq Tribe. Besides the Longshan Police Station and Swasiq Church, most of Swasiq Tribe consists of residential houses. Although they are all modern concrete buildings, local residents have painted indigenous-style murals on the continuous house walls to recreate the Atayal tribal atmosphere, showcasing traditional life and local agricultural products. The tribe also has Atayal-style stilted houses, and traditional cultural relics and craft studios are hidden in the alleys, making it suitable for a leisurely stroll and a quiet, relaxing time.
