Ponds played an important role in the history of land reclamation in Sanwan. Due to the terrain, the irrigation water source here is at the end, making it impossible to maintain a stable water volume. Therefore, people at the time dug many ponds for agricultural cultivation. After the construction of Yongheshan Reservoir, the importance of ponds greatly diminished. Coupled with the decrease in agriculture over time, these ponds have gradually disappeared. In recent years, in order to preserve this important landscape feature, the residents of Beipu Village have developed the pond culture into a leisure agricultural tourist attraction. Among them, "Sanlian Pond" is the largest, formed by the connection of Guanyin Pond, Liwu Pond, and Dahuangpu Pond. It has a history of over a hundred years since its excavation. The landscape reconstruction of the ponds not only embellishes the appearance of Beipu Village but also adds leisure trails and bicycle paths around it. At the same time, relevant activities are planned to attract tourists to experience leisure agriculture and enjoy the scenery of water towns and rural villages.
