Lukang Fengshan Temple. Fengshan Temple, a Quanzhou-style temple and a county-designated historic site, enshrines Guangze Zunwang. Its original temple is located in Fengshan Temple, Nan'an County, Quanzhou Prefecture. Immigrants from Nan'an brought incense ashes to Lukang for worship, and after the temple was built, it was named Fengshan Temple. Fengshan Temple was built in the second year of Daoguang (1822 AD) and expanded in the tenth year of Daoguang. It was originally a long-shaped temple, but later due to street widening, the courtyard was removed and the San Chuan Hall was moved back, forming its current appearance. Today, the seams are still visible on the left and right sides of the San Chuan Hall, which visitors can examine closely. Did you know? Guangze Zunwang, also known as Bao'an Zunwang, and by other names such as Guo Shengwang, Guo Wanggong, and Guo Fu Shengwang, is the most revered deity by the people of Quanzhou. For the connoisseur: The courtyard contains inscriptions by Jinshi Liao Chunbo and the sage Chen Huaicheng, which are of great documentary value. The left wing was the site of the Beiguan Opera Troupe, and only the "Jade Ruyi" plaque remains today. It also enshrines the Su Fu Wangye from Wanchun Palace. The dragon and tiger reliefs on the left and right sides in front of the San Chuan Hall, as well as the calligraphy and painting reliefs on both sides of the courtyard, are all made of Jiaozhi pottery, full of ancient charm. The temple has an elegant appearance and precious cultural relics, making it worth your visit.
