It is currently used as a dormitory and storage room. A watchtower is located next to the police station. It is a rare architectural structure, not easily found elsewhere. The establishment of the watchtower allows for witnessing the changes in the coastline of the Lukang and Zhangbin areas. The exterior walls of the watchtower are constructed using exposed aggregate (wash stone) technique, an architectural technology introduced by the Japanese from the West during the Japanese colonial era, which is resistant to wind and sun. The air-raid shelter in the courtyard, preserved from World War II to the present day, also holds significant historical value. Source: Changhua County Cultural Affairs Bureau.
