Chen Wanneng Pewter Art Studio is the shared pewter art studio of National Treasure Pewter Master Chen Wanneng and his sons, Chen Zhiyang and Chen Zhisheng, who are collectively registered as Taiwan Craft Masters and Changhua County Traditional Pewter Craft Preservers. Pewter is a metal with a silvery-gray luster, also interpreted as "bestowal." Pewter craft involves casting and engraving various objects using a tin-lead alloy, commonly seen in past weddings or religious ceremonies, with a history of over a century in Taiwan. Among these, Lugang experienced a period of flourishing prosperity from the late Jiaqing era of the Qing Dynasty, with six to ten pewter shops at one time, making Chelu Road the "Pewter Workshop Street," and its apprentices spread throughout the province engaged in the supply of pewterware.
