Baishakang Wendegong Temple. Built during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, it was originally named "Baoan Temple." During the Daoguang era, Zeng Weizhen, a local who served as a Hanlin scholar, changed the temple's name to "Wende Temple," signifying "protecting the territory and ensuring peace. Built during the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was originally named "Baoan Temple." During the Daoguang era, Zeng Wei-zhen, a local who became a Hanlin scholar, renamed the temple "Wende Temple," signifying "protecting the land and its people, and promoting cultural and moral education." The emperor bestowed upon the Earth God of Zeng Hanlin's hometown the same rank as a Hanlin scholar and presented an imperial black gauze hat, making it the only Earth God in Taiwan with an imperial official title. Wende Temple's lantern parade, which follows a century-old tradition, was registered as a "folk cultural asset" in 2008. After four relocations, the temple grew larger and its incense offerings more prosperous. On either side are the "Gate of Propriety" and "Path of Righteousness." Later, the "Five Camps Tower" was added to enshrine divine generals, and historical artifacts were preserved, further enhancing its historical significance.
